France is Sauvignon Blanc’s spiritual home, and this delightfully fresh beauty is the latest release from fourth-generation Maison Georges Vigouroux (est. 1887), nestled in the heart of the gorgeous southwest. If you’re a Sauvignon fan, it’s not to be missed. Sourced from vineyards that dot the rolling hills of France’s Côtes de Gascogne area, Pretium is a wine that truly beckons to the senses. Look for aromas of exotic fruits and ultra-ripe citrus, followed by a juicy-bright lemon/lime character that lingers on a persistent, refreshing finish – like joie de vivre in a glass. Sauvignon’s classic match is goat cheese (goat cheese dolloped on crostini with fresh herbs, perhaps). But you can easily match this up with gazpacho, grilled shrimp, roasted chicken, fish and chips, and seasonal salads.
