History
Ayala Champagne Brut Majeur was founded in 1860 by Edmond de Ayala, making it one of the most historic houses in Champagne. In 1882, he became one of the 18 founding members of the “Grandes Marques de Champagne” syndicate, which set the standard for quality and excellence in the region. The house experienced a golden age during the 1920s and 1930s when it ranked among the largest ten producers of Champagne. Known as “the sleeping beauty of Champagne” in more recent times, Ayala began its revival after being acquired by the Bollinger group in 2005. The brand beautifully celebrates the rich heritage of Champagne, combining the unique terroirs and the dedication of its winemakers.
