History
Blanton's Poland 2020 is best known as "liquid gold"! It is a special edition created to commemorate the history of the first single-barrel bourbon. The first Blanton Bourbon from this vast collection was produced in 1984 under the guidance of Elmer T. Lee, Master distiller at the George T. Stagg Distillery, now known as the famous Buffalo Trace Distillery. There he worked with Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, the President of the Distillery from 1921-1951. During his tenure, Lee observed that Colonel Blanton had a preference for bourbon aged in warehouse H, the only metal-clad warehouse at the distillery, which influenced the unique aging characteristics of the spirit. This bourbon is aged 6-8 years and boasts a higher rye content, contributing to its distinctive flavor profile. Blanton's commitment to quality ensures that only a limited amount is produced, making it highly sought after. In 1999, eight different horse stoppers were introduced, with each representing a letter in the name "B-L-A-N-T-O-N'-S," and their unique positions evoke the excitement of a horse race. While fans eagerly hunt for specific letters, Blanton's assures that the same number of each design is produced annually, adding to the allure of this collectible spirit. Notably, overseas releases come in 700 ml bottles, while domestic versions are 750 ml.
