This exceptional bourbon was born in 1984 when Elmer T. Lee, nearing retirement, embarked on a mission to create a bourbon of unparalleled quality. Drawing inspiration from his early days working under Colonel Blanton in the late 1940s, Mr. Lee remembered a remarkable tradition. Colonel Blanton would personally select "honey barrels" from the center cut of Warehouse H, reserving these exceptional barrels for special occasions and dignitaries. Each of these chosen barrels would be bottled individually, capturing the essence of its unique flavor profile. In homage to this tradition, Elmer T. Lee christened this new bourbon "Blanton's Single Barrel," preserving the essence of Colonel Blanton's commitment to excellence.
