Taste
BOLS Amaretto Liqueur is a luxurious and complex experience that captivates the senses with its rich aromas of ripe fruit and enticing spicy notes. The scent is reminiscent of roasted apples and apple compote, intertwined with the sweetness of fresh peaches. On the palate, it offers a subtle yet harmonious combination of structure, length, and vivacity, with bubbles that glide like velvet. Flavors of pear and brioche emerge, complemented by hints of warming spices and fresh walnut, creating a beautifully layered tasting journey.

History
BOLS Amaretto Liqueur was crafted by the Bols family who started the production of liqueurs in a small Amsterdam distillery called 't Lootsje. Lucas Bols, the grandson of the founder, was born in 1669. In 1700, he became a major shareholder in the Dutch East India Trading Company, giving him access to exotic herbs and spices, which helped him create over 300 liqueur and spirit recipes. He began shipping Bols liqueurs worldwide, establishing a global reputation. Lucas Bols died in 1719, leaving a legacy that continues today. The Bols family also distilled the famous Dutch genever, developing a revolutionary recipe with a more subtle flavor that played a key role in the cocktail revolution. In the first cocktail recipe book, published in 1862 by bartender Jerry Thomas, one in four cocktails featured genever. By 1883, Bols began maturing genevers in French Limousin oak casks, which led to the creation of the aged Bols Genever Barrel Aged recipe, relaunched internationally in 2010, showcasing the brand's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
