This 4-year-old rye is 114.4 proof and has a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted rye. Of bright amber hue, it has a nose dominated by notes of brown sugar, ripe pears, and cinnamon sugar. On the palate, the cinnamon rules, along with some oak, the pears, and the barest suggestion of smoke. The spice gradually gives way to fruit and light caramel before ending the long finish with a note of sweet oak. Water appreciably sweetens it, so consider drinking over a large ice cube.
