The Cadenhead Enigma Speyside 12 Year Old is Cadenhead's first release from an undisclosed Speyside distillery.
It was distilled in 2013, matured in an Oloroso sherry hogshead from 2024, and bottled in Feb 2026.
The whiskies in the Cadenhead’s Enigma series are mysterious, unusual, hard to quantify, and perhaps even slightly contradictory.
They can be single casks, vattings of multiple casks, blends, blended malts or whatever else can be found that doesn’t fit into the existing Cadenhead bottling lineup but meets the only essential criteria — they are delicious.
Cadenhead's Tasting Notes
Nose: Orange rind, carrot cake, cinnamon, brown sugar.
Palate: Honey, strawberry ice cream, butterscotch, caramelised banana.
Finish: Salty, red apples, peach, orange marmalade, almond.
