Ceretto Nebbiolo D'alba Doc Bernardina

Made from 100% Nebbiolo, the vinyeards that comprise this wine are located in Alba at the Monsordo-Bernardina estate, which is located on the border of the prestigious Barolo zone. The terroir here is slightly different than other parts of the Langhe and this makes this specific growing site one of the best suited for the inimitable Nebbiolo grape variety. The four hectares of estate-grown Nebbiolo that surrounds the family’s main production facility were planted in the early 1980s and have been grown organically for over a decade. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 12 months in 300L and 500L neutral French oak barrels, this wine is aged an additional 12 months in bottle before release. Ready to consume upon release, this wine expresses the great aging potential of wines made within the D.O.C. Nebbiolo d'Alba and may also be cellared for up to 10 years. Round and elegant on the palate, with well-integrated acidity and soft tannins, this wine shows nuances of violet candy, fresh plums and orange peel. The finish of this wine culminates with hints of almonds, making it incredibly enjoyable by-the-glass. The 2021 vintage received 92 points from James Suckling.
