During our recent heatwave we haven't wanted to be trapped in the kitchen, so to-go has been the go-to!  We close the store and head home, passing all our favorite takeout spots. We let the length of the line at the counter decide where we stop- maybe burgers or pizza, perhaps BBQ or kebabs? With so many options, we make sure to grab a bottle of wine that pairs well with anything: the Dashe 2023 Vineyard Select Zinfandel.

The husband and wife team at Dashe Cellars sources fruit from small growers in Sonoma and Mendicino counties and crafts outstanding wines at their 'urban winery' situated on a repurposed old naval base in San Francisco Bay.

This super-affordable and super-duper enjoyable Zinfandel has all the jammy fruit and peppery spice you expect, but with a refined balance and depth difficult to find at this pricepoint. The nose teases with rich, warm vanilla and a hint of clove, while the palate is full of rich, chewy red and black fruits leading to a gentle, woody finish. The wine can stand up to robust foods, but is supple enough for lighter fare - or just sipping solo!
