Gorgeous house style pale ale action with Freestyle Tropical Fusion hops on the exchanges. We have been invited to be part of the Freestyle Hop Research Collective. This series showcases some of their new amazing hop varieties. Tropical Fusion was created from a blend of different varieties within a single block at the farm. We were given plants from our nursery provider that we thought were all Riwaka. It wasn't until the seedlings started to grow that it was noticed that cones were looking quite different and not uniform. The team in NZ decided to let the vines continue to grow and see what happened and thankfully, that field blend was smelling phenomenal this year! The team in NZ believe it's a blend of Riwaka, Motueka and Southern Cross that we actually got from the nursery. Turned out to be a really great happy accident and Gareth is really excited to smell some beers with the hop.
