Nestled in the deep southwest of Ethiopia, within the Bench Maji zone, Gesha Karmach Farm is a 1,000-hectare estate that has been in operation since 2019. This ancient, forested highland, where the legendary Gesha variety was first discovered, is home to the Gesha Karmach Farm. Despite the widespread deforestation in Ethiopia, the farm stands as a testament to the resilience of native forests, providing a natural green canopy that supports the thriving coffee industry.

With 350 hectares dedicated exclusively to coffee cultivation, the Gesha Karmach Farm boasts ideal conditions for high-quality coffee production. A diverse selection of Gesha varieties and indigenous landraces are planted there, resulting in uniquely expressive coffee lots. As the farm expands, it remains committed to sustainable development that honors the land and supports local communities, including the Bench, Me’en, and Amhara peoples, who have long relied on the forest and its resources.
