Split Stave™ by Kelvin is a unique twist in whiskey production, using innovative Split Stave™ casks exclusively designed and crafted by Kelvin Cooperage for Four Gate Whiskey Company.

The casks are ingeniously created using a mix of medium-toasted casks and #2 char casks. These barrels are disassembled and then recombined into Split Stave™ casks that alternate between toasted and charred staves. This process results in a whiskey flavor profile that fuses the sweet notes of marshmallow and crème brulee from the toasted barrels with the smoky oak hints of the charred ones.

The base for this remarkable whiskey is a 7-year-old Straight Rye Whiskey, distilled in Indiana, using a mash bill comprising 95% rye and 5% malted barley. A total of 2,439 bottles have been produced at full cask strength, which equates to a potent 112.5 proof.
