Opening to an interesting combination of sweet and savory notes, the Kornell 2018 Alto Adige Merlot Riserva Vigna Kressfeld has plump cherry, jammy fruit, clove and Christmas spice. This vintage shows an evolved character, with spent embers and barbecue pit, and it proceeds to the palate with soft, thick texture. The vintage is advanced, and a near-term drinking window is recommended. 2,000 bottles released.

With much passion and perseverance, this Merlot is made from thirty-year-old vines on the historic hill of the Kornell winery.
Dark ruby red with strong shimmer. Complex aromas of ripe plums, spicy jam with notes of chocolate, tobacco & eucalyptus. Harmonious structure with elegance and velvety fullness, soft tannins, fresh finish.
Pair with: Angus beef fillet with pepper sauce, Fiorentina, T-bone steak.
