Description

WINE OVERVIEW`Never slow down' and dance in Tupungato with Domingo Fazzio with his Malbec full of supple tannins, red currant, and mocha notes. Fazzio is a single vineyard Malbec from the region of Tupungato in the Uco Valley. The wine is aged 12 months in 10% new French oak, 70% 2nd use French oak, and 20% stainless steel. The soil consists of sandy loam, sand, silt, and clay with some surface stones.TASTING NOTESThe vibrant nose of red and black cherries and ripe plums combines with floral touches of violets and rose petals. It holds a nice tannic structure that is full on the palate. Vanilla, chocolate, and some spice appears to make it more complex.FOOD PAIRINGThis is a fruit-driven, fresh and well-structured wine that pairs great with meats like prosciutto or hard cheeses. Unique recipe ideas include Smoked Chicken and Blueberry Salad or Roast Pork Tenderloin with Medjool Date, Olive and Walnut Relish. This product is imported by Vine Connections - the leading South American fine wine importer in the US. Our mission is to expand your view of the world through great wine, sake & spirits.

Producer Description

Argentina's first grower-designated wines that offer a true 'sense of place.' Ed Lehrman and Nick Ramkowsky of Vine Connections have tasted over a thousand wines since they began importing from Argentina. In that time, they discovered a handful of grape growers whose results in the vineyards with specific varietals have been truly amazing--year in, year out. Ed and Nick's first encounter with many of these growers was at a posta del vinatero, or "tavern of the grape grower." Here they drank wine with the growers and spoke passionately for hours about their soils, their vines, and their quest for superior flavors in their grapes. In collaboration with Laura Catena and esteemed winemaker Estela Perinetti, Vine Connections salutes the hard work and skill of these growers by offering these vineyard-designated releases.Owner/Winemaker Nick Ramkowsky & Ed Lehrmann, Owners | Estela Perinetti, Winemaker
