About Laird's Straight Applejack 86
A historic American Apple Brandy. A revival of the Laird family's original Straight Applejack (first made in 1780!), which was produced prior to Prohibition.
Tasting Notes
Cooked, ripe apples and charred bourbon-like oak on the nose. Warm, full and complex in the mouth, with notes of baked apples, caramel, and wood. A pleasant, lingering finish.

- Savor neat over ice
- Makes an excellent substitute for whiskey in traditional cocktails like the Manhattan and the Old-Fashioned
- Terrific in a Jack Rose
Production Notes
Proudly made with apples grown exclusively in the United States and ripened on the tree. Varietals like Winesap, Fuji, Red and Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, McIntosh and Jonathan are picked ripe, then pressed to extract the juice. This cider ferments and then is distilled through a column still to 160 proof. The distillate is reduced to 130 proof and aged in charred oak barrels. After a tantalizing period of aging, the brandy is reduced to 86 proof with demineralized water.
