Laphroaig's Original Cask Strength is the purest way to experience the taste created by the land, sea and air of Islay. Aged 10 years, it’s barrier-filtered from the cask to remove unwanted char particles – and that’s all that comes between you and the real Laphroaig. Laphroaig does not chill-filter the Original Cask Strength, nor do they reduce its natural strength. So, what you pour is what is drawn from the barrel — the heart of charred seasoned oak barrels, the blue peat smoke and nutty barley, in a truly natural experience. Batch 16 is the most powerful expression yet released from the Cask Strength family.
Producer's Notes
Nose: Sweet, stewed apples topped with crispy, slightly caramelized pastry. This is underpinned by hints of cereal, tanned leather and vanilla.
Palate: Upfront sweet and spicy notes, with notes of vanilla and sea salt intermingled with savoury notes of pork crackling with hints of freshly ground black pepper.
