From the Farm to the Mill

Kenya AA starts with smallholder farmers in Bungoma County, most tending fewer than 200 trees each. Hand-picked coffee cherries are delivered to the wet mill the same day they are harvested, where cherry sorting, wet processing, and sun-drying on raised tables are carried out before the beans move to the dry mill for secondary processing. This careful, same-day harvest-to-mill workflow is a hallmark of high-quality Kenyan coffee production — and it shows in the cup.

The AA designation refers to the largest bean screen size used in Kenyan grading, generally associated with the highest density and most developed flavor potential. It is earned, not assumed.
