History
Michter's 10 Year Bourbon 2023 is created with tradition in mind at the Michter's Distillery in Kentucky, Louisville. It was developed in pursuit of Michter’s goal of making the greatest American whiskey. The origins date back to the 18th century when a Swiss Mennonite farmer named John Shenk settled near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley. Faced with an abundance of grains, Shenk turned to distillation, founding what would become the United States' first distilling company. Over the years, Michter's has focused on perfecting its craft, utilizing unique barrel finishes that enhance flavor. The bourbon is crafted as a barrel strength spirit, aged in a second custom barrel made from 24-month air-dried wood, which undergoes a toasting process to deepen its complexity. This meticulous attention to detail results in a highly flavorful bourbon that reflects the legacy and innovation of Michter's heritage.
