Michter's 10 Year Rye 2020 is created with tradition in mind at the Michter's Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. Pursuing the goal of making the greatest American whiskey, this expression reflects a rich heritage that dates back to the 18th century. It all began when Swiss Mennonite farmer John Shenk settled near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley, eventually starting the United States' first distilling company. After years of refining techniques, Michter's became renowned for its quality. The 10 Year Rye is particularly special, as it undergoes a meticulous aging process in custom barrels, enhancing its flavor profile. The rye mash bill consists mainly of freshly harvested rye grains, which are carefully prepared to maximize flavor during fermentation. Distilled in copper pot stills and matured in charred American oak, this whiskey gains depth and character through its unique aging environment, resulting in a complex, robust spirit that is celebrated by whiskey enthusiasts.
