History
Michter’s 20 Year Bourbon 2021 is created with tradition in mind at the Michter's Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, pursuing Michter’s goal of crafting the greatest American whiskey. The distillery's roots trace back to the 18th century when Swiss Mennonite farmer John Shenk settled near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley. After successfully cultivating more grains than he could sell, Shenk purchased a still, leading to the creation of the United States' first distilling company, Michter's. This bourbon is unique, crafted with an extended aging process and finished in a second custom barrel made from carefully selected 24-month air-dried wood, which is toasted to enhance its flavors. The result is a rich, complex bourbon that showcases the distillery's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
