Founded in 1794 (before Oban even existed) the distillery currently sits tucked away in this charming tourist town on the western edge of the Scottish Highlands. A stalwart of the Diageo portfolio, Oban occupies one of the six honoured positions in the Classic Malt series alongside Dalwhinnie, Talisker, Cragganmore, Lagavulin, and Glenkinchie. We, at Whisky Drop, think its straight up yummy.
Nose: Fresh oranges, lemons, and pears, with a hint of salt and peat.
Palate: Dried fig, spice, and a smoked malt dryness.
Finish: Long, smooth, and oaky sweet with a grain of salt.
