Previously part of their travel retail offering, Oban's Little Bay has graduated to the core range as a 750 mL bottling.
This expression uses whisky matured in refill American oak hogsheads, European oak Sherry casks and refill casks with new ends.
When brothers Hugh and John Stevenson arrived at the frontier of the Hebrides Islands in 1793, they found little more than a natural harbour and a windswept view.
Here they opened the Oban Brewing Company, their ‘Cowbell Ale’ being the first production (distillation began a year later).
The business remained in the Stevenson family for three generations, until local merchant Peter Cumpstie purchased it in 1830.
Producer's Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich nuttiness balanced by ripe orchard fruits.
Palate: Chewy fruit bread, orange spice, and crisp green apple.
Finish: Long with elegant dark chocolate tannins.
