93pts James Suckling

Hard to resist this charming and characterful champagne. A wide range of stone fruit aromas plus ripe pear pulls you into the juicy and creamy palate which retains a very nice delicacy of touch. Long, elegant finish with dainty caramelized pear character. 40% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir and 30% pinot meunier with 20% of perpetual reserve in this cuvee based on the 2018 vintage. 17 villages, mostly Premier and Grand Cru. Drink now.

92pts Decanter

Exotic and oaky notes with toasty, nutty and stone fruit character. Lovely palate with ripe expression and complex notes. Blend : 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier

91pts Wine Enthusiast

This bottling has some age to it, giving a toasty wine with a crisp texture. Nearly four years before disgorging has given it a mature sheen that has balanced the ripe fruit and enhanced a more mineral element. Drink now.

Tasting Notes

Superb pale yellow colour with very light golden reflections.nThe finely buttery almost pastry-based aromas are quickly joined by a bouquet of forest flowers and notes of candied citrus and blood orange. Straight attack, creamy notes on the palate with notes of dried apricot and citrus fruits.

An ideal champagne for a refined aperitif, it will then go well with scallops with cream, grilled white meat or even a refined Comté.

Winemaker Notes

This cuvée has been created by meticulously selecting 17 villages which have a strong identity and a close link to Pommery. These terroirs, which are articulated around the solid foundation represented by the Montagne de Reims, yield exceptional grapes every year, which are the indispensable basis for the creation of the POMMERY style.

The essence of fine cuisine. The chardonnay grape has an assertive presence. Brut Apanage is left to mature in chalk cellars on the Pommery Estate for a further six months to allow the subtlety and finesse of Pommery wines to slowly emerge.

Blend: 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 30% Pinot Meunier.
