Sazerac 18 Year 2018 is a legendary drink that traces its roots back to 1782, evolving over the years while maintaining its distinctive character. The drink's true origin remains shrouded in mystery, as does the authentic preparation method. Originally popular in bars known as coffee houses, the famed Sazerac Coffee House founded in 1850 in New Orleans became a social hub. Bartender Vincent Miret, known for his exceptional cocktail skills, played a pivotal role in the drink's history. The recipe transitioned from brandy to rye whiskey in 1885, and despite various challenges, including prohibition, the Sazerac Company thrived. Bottled exclusively at the Sazerac Bar until 1949, it later moved to the Roosevelt Hotel. With an expansion into other spirits and the acquisition of distilleries, Sazerac has emerged as a prominent name in the industry. This particular expression, distilled at Buffalo Trace in 1998 and aged for 18 years, is part of a limited release, with only 2,687 bottles available, making it highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
