Sipsmith opened in Chiswick, London in 2009 as the city’s first copper pot distillery in nearly 200 years — a small, principled operation that helped ignite the modern craft gin renaissance. Built around a single copper pot still named Prudence, the distillery was founded on the belief that great gin requires patience, skill, and the finest botanicals. Their London Dry Gin became an instant benchmark. The Sloe Gin takes that award-winning base and does something wonderfully old-fashioned with it: steeping wild sloe berries — the small, tart, jet-black fruit of the blackthorn bush — harvested each autumn and left to macerate in the gin until the spirit turns a deep, jewel-like ruby red.

The result is a handcrafted sloe gin of real character: rich and warming on the nose with aromas of wild berry, cherry, almond, and a subtle juniper backbone. The palate is luscious but never cloying — ripe plum, damson, and bramble fruit with a bittersweet edge and a long, warming finish.
