Tempus Fugit Gran Classico Bitter
700mL | 28% ABV | Switzerland | Bitter Aperitif | Herbal Liqueur

Process & Profile

Gran Classico Bitter is crafted based on a 19th-century recipe from Turin, Italy, revived and refined by Tempus Fugit Spirits in Switzerland. It’s made using an infusion of 25 aromatic herbs and roots including wormwood, gentian, bitter orange peel, and rhubarb, all macerated in alcohol and naturally colored with caramelized sugar. Unlike artificially dyed bitters, Gran Classico maintains its rich amber hue and complex depth without added coloring or flavoring.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Herbal bouquet with orange peel, gentian root, and warm spices
Palate: Balanced bitterness with notes of rhubarb, honey, dried herbs, and licorice
Finish: Long, complex, and slightly sweet with lingering spice and citrus bitterness

What Makes It Special

  • Based on an original 1860s Italian aperitif recipe

  • Naturally colored, with no artificial dyes

  • Crafted with 25 botanicals including wormwood and gentian

  • Ideal substitute for Campari in classic cocktails

  • Produced in small batches in Switzerland for authenticity

How to Enjoy

Use as a key ingredient in Negronis, Americanos, or Spritz cocktails. Also excellent served over ice with soda or citrus, or enjoyed straight for a bold aperitif.
