Vicario Olive Leaf Liqueur is produced by Renato Vicario and Janette Wesley using organically grown olive leaves from their farms in Tuscany, Italy and South Carolina, USA — an unusual liqueur built from the leaf rather than the fruit of the olive tree, producing a distinctive herbal, slightly bitter, grassy character with the dry vegetal complexity of fresh olive leaf.

Olive leaf has a long tradition in Mediterranean herbal medicine, with naturally occurring oleuropein producing both the bitterness and the herbal character that defines this liqueur. Vicario’s farm-to-bottle approach — with non-GMO, no-chemical-additive farming on both sides of the Atlantic — produces an organically sourced liqueur in a category where commodity sourcing dominates.
