La Sorga Tireur des Litres

Syrah/Grenache/Merlot/Malbec. The mad scientist/mountain man Antony Tortul started La Sorga with the desire to reclaim the old, indigenous grape varieties of the south of France from the people who are happy to rip up old-growth vines and replant them with Pinot Noir. Antony started out working as an assistant for various winemakers in Gaillac, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and around the Languedoc before settling down in the south. He became part of a loose group of young winemakers in the region who are caring for vineyards planted with indigenous varieties, and making drinkable, natural wines. Working with grapes like Aubun, Mauzac, and Terret Bourret, Antony now farms more than 40 different plots, all of which are organic, and some even AB certified biodynamic.
