Ledaig Limited Edition FY26 Castaway is a bold and innovative peated single malt, matured in a rare combination of Caribbean rum and Mexican tequila casks, creating a distinctive and exotic flavour profile. The nose opens with coastal peat smoke, caramelised banana, lime zest and vanilla, alongside green apple, white pepper and a hint of sea spray. On the palate, smoky spice leads into grilled pineapple, brine and herbal agave, with layers of black pepper, charred citrus and rich toffee developing through the mid-palate. A long, warming finish follows, with smouldering peat, demerara sweetness, chilli heat and a final twist of lime. Bottled at natural cask strength (61.1% ABV), non-chill filtered and natural in colour, this limited release of 6,428 bottles offers a unique and characterful expression, with proceeds supporting the Mull and Iona Community Trust.
