Mortlach is a less well-known distillery that holds a cult status for connoisseurs. Behold the mystery of the Wee Witchie spirit still ... renown for giving Mortlach its legendary viscous mouth-feel. The 12 yr old vats bourbon and sherry-matured whisky for added complexity.
Nose: Damson, toasted almond, cinder toffee and heavy barley.
Palate: Warming oak and soft raisins, with a bit of olive oil salinity mixed in.
Finish: A bit jammy, a bit nutty, some lingering citrus oils cutting through.
